Your Itinerary Through Green Spain
This tour combines the historic and cultural highlights of Spain’s capital, Madrid, with the breathtaking landscapes of Galicia’s wine regions. Over the course of nine days, you’ll explore medieval cities, cruise through scenic estuaries, and enjoy the hospitality of Spain’s northwest region, all while indulging in the area’s world-class wines.
- Prepare for your exciting journey to Spain. This day is reserved for travel.
- Arrive and check in to our hotel by 3pm. We’ll gather for cocktails at 5pm, followed by an early dinner to kick off the tour.
- Meals included: Cocktails and Dinner
- Begin the day with a mid-morning tour of the Spanish Royal Palace, followed by a menu del dia lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy free time to explore Madrid on your own. We’ll meet again in the evening for a group tapas dinner.

- Today we’ll travel to the La Mancha region to visit the historic city of Cuenca, known for its unique hanging houses. We’ll explore this ancient city and enjoy lunch before returning to Madrid.

- Today we’ll take Spain’s high-speed train, the AVE, to the town of Ourense, our home base in “Green Spain.” From here we can easily launch our day trips to Santiago de Compostela, the Galician coast and the Ribera Sacra wine region. You’ll have the afternoon free before we gather for dinner in the evening.

- This is our day to explore the Rias Baixas wine region. We’ll visit a local winery known for Albariño wines, followed by a lunch cruise in the Ría de Arousa, one of Galicia’s beautiful coastal inlets. In the evening, you’re free to explore Ourense on your own.
- Meals included: Breakfast and Lunch
- Today, we’ll travel by train to Santiago de Compostela to explore the city that is the final stop along the Camino de Santiago. Here you can visit the iconic cathedral, explore the Mercado de Abastos, and wander through the charming and narrow streets of this historic city. We’ll return to Ourense for a group dinner in the evening.

- Today, we’ll visit the Ribera Sacra wine region, stopping at the Algueira winery for a tasting followed by lunch. The day will conclude with a cruise along the Sil River, surrounded by breathtaking vineyard-covered cliffs. In the evening, you’ll have free time in Ourense.

- We’ll take a morning train back to Madrid, where you’ll have a free afternoon to shop, sightsee, or relax. In the evening, we’ll gather for a farewell dinner.
