Your Itinerary to Travel Burgos, Spain
This tour offers a perfect blend of historical exploration and world-class wine tasting. With four nights in the city of Burgos, you’ll explore the nearby wine regions of La Rioja and Ribera del Duero. In Madrid, you’ll experience art, history, and a day trip to the medieval city of Ávila.
- Prepare for your exciting journey to Spain. This day is reserved for travel.
- Check-in time at our hotel is 3pm. After settling in, we’ll gather for cocktails at 5pm and then enjoy an early dinner.
- Meals included: Cocktails and Dinner
- After breakfast, we’ll enjoy a late-morning tour of the Reina Sofia Museum, famous for its Spanish art, including Picasso’s Guernica. Afterward, we’ll have a menu del dia lunch. The rest of the afternoon is free for exploring Madrid on your own.

- After breakfast, we’ll head to the Principe Pio train station to take a train to Ávila. You’ll have plenty of time to explore the medieval wall that still encircles the city center, enjoy lunch, shop, and soak in the sights. Upon returning to Madrid, we’ll enjoy an early dinner together.

- After breakfast, we’ll board a train to Burgos, where we’ll check into our hotel for a four-night stay. We’ll enjoy lunch together before touring Burgos’ magnificent Gothic cathedral. In the evening, we’ll embark on a tapas tour through the city.

- This day is dedicated to exploring La Rioja’s famous wine region. We’ll take a minibus ride to the town of Briñas, where we’ll visit Bodegas Tobelos for a tour and tasting. For lunch, we’ll move to the Station District of Haro, where we’ll find famous wineries like Muga and Cune. After returning to Burgos, the evening is free for your own exploration.

- Today, you’ll have the freedom to explore Burgos at your own pace. Perhaps you’ll want to walk part of the Camino de Santiago, which passes through the city, climb to the castle for a view of the city skyline or simply wander its historic streets. In the evening, we’ll gather for a group dinner.

- Today, we’ll explore the Ribera del Duero wine region, traveling by minibus to the town of Peñafiel. Here, we’ll visit Bodegas Protos for a private wine tasting, followed by a three-course meal paired with three of their wines. After returning to Burgos, you’ll have the evening free.

- After breakfast, we’ll catch a train back to Madrid where you’ll have the afternoon free for last-minute shopping or sightseeing. In the evening, we’ll come together for a farewell dinner.
